Fruit

Each item of fruit, either an apple or pear, is turned from a wood that gives a highly polished  finish. The fruit is buffed and polished using a triple stage polishing system that uses tripoli compound, white diamond compound and natural beeswax to give a glass-like finish. The stem is made from a dark contrasting wood such as  tulipwood, walnut or wenge. Woods available are

• the highly distinctive purpleheart, a beautiful rich purple colour;
• padauk. a rich red brown;
• and more traditional British hardwoods such as oak, laburnum, yew and walnut.
